V-Line industries is based out of Simi Valley, California. They make all of their safes right here in the USA. Overall, the quality is excellent and the Brute XD is the best mechanical handgun safe in the industry. The V-Line Quick Vault Wall Safe is the smallest version of their wall safe lineup and in this review, I will explain why it is the best light duty wall safe available.

Lock – V-Line Quick Vault Wall Safe

First and always most important is the lock. V-Line uses the genuine Simplex mechanical push button lock with 1,081 different possible combinations. When installed and used correctly, this is a very reliable lock designed to last forever. This lock doesn’t use any batteries and opens reliably every time.

Security – V-Line Quick Vault Wall Safe

The security on the V-Line Quick Vault Wall Safe features a 14 gauge steel door and body. The safe is built with a clamshell design operating on a piano hinge with both ends encased into the frame. There are internal anti-pry tabs on all three moving sides and the lock bolt moves directly through the inner frame. They also include a 3/8″ thick steel lock block welded to the cover which helps guide and add strength to the lock bolt. These are a lot of advanced security features for such a little safe.

V-Line Quick Vault Wall Safe Style

14 gauge steel is adequate for a wall safe and much thicker than the standard 16 to 18 gauge used on competing safes from Barska, Mesa and SnapSafe. For reference, 16 gauge steel is the thickness of a penny.

There are also bolt holes on the sides of the safe to mount it in-between the studs in your wall.

Style and Function

The finish on the V-Line Quick Vault Wall Safe is a semi-gloss powder coated ivory that is definitely better than the textured black option on their pistol safes but still not the most attractive finish. Considering this is a wall safe that is meant to be hidden, the finish is not critically important but I wish they would use the same matte style paint they use on the Brute XD and new Tactical Closet Vault. In addition, It has a carpet lined adjustable shelf included and a carpeted back and bottom to prevent scratches to the items you place inside.

Warranty

All V-Line safes come with a 1 year limited warranty. They will repair or replace the safe and gaurantee that it will be free from defects in material and workmanship. The lock also carries a one year warranty from the manufacturer. In my experience, V-Line is an easy and reliable company to work with. All in all, they stand behind their products with honesty and integrity.

The Bottom Line

Would I buy the V-Line Quick Vault Safe to store my valuables? Yes, I definitely would. With a high quality mechanical lock, 14 gauge steel construction, internal anti-pry tabs and carpeted interior, this is the best low cost, entry level wall safe available.

With that said, there is a wall safe that is far superior to this one. The Stealth WSHD1414 wall safe comes with a 1/2″ thick solid steel door, UL rated high security S&G mechanical lock, hard plate, re-locker, 12 gauge steel body, double the warranty and is still Made in USA. It’s my top absolute top pick in the wall safe category and significantly more secure. It’s also double the price, so if all you need is a light duty, entry level wall safe, the V-Line Quick Vault will do a fantastic job. Remember with safes, you always get what you pay for.
