1. Lockdown Puck – Arriving April 2020, the Lockdown Puck will take over the gun safe industry. For those of you familiar with the old Liberty Safelert, this is essentially the same thing at half the price. What I love about the puck is it’s ability to track humidity, temperature and motion and alert you via app notifications that any of these measures have passed your threshold. Since it connect via Wifi, you don’t have to worry about being in range via Bluetooth or paying for cell service. After interacting with it at the SHOT show 2020, it has become so obvious how great of an accessory this will be. The Lockdown Puck is already available for pre-order on Amazon and will be the top selling gun safe accessory of 2020.

2. Stealth Gun Safe Power Outlet – Many new safes nowadays come standard with a power outlet installed for charging your electronics inside the safe. For those of you who have an older safe or a low end safe, Stealth made the Power Outlet Kit just for you! With 3 orange tabs you just flip up, remove the wires, run them through a hole in your safe and reconnect. The Stealth Power Outlet Kit takes less than 5 minutes to install and is already getting raving reviews. This is a quick and easy fix to be able to run dehumidifiers, lights, watch winders or any other device requiring power.

3. Gun Storage Solutions Rifle Rods – Gun Safes today are still using the same old, inconvenient gun racks from the 80s built for stock rifles with no attachments, scopes, lasers or extended mags. If you’re like the rest of the modern world, you’ll have a few of these accessories on your firearms which will obliterate the storage capacity of your gun safe. A 14 gun safe very quickly becomes a 4 gun safe with these mods but there is a solution. Gun Storage Solutions Rifle Rods use Velcro tipped plastic rods to keep your rifles stored upright increasing the storage capacity of your gun safe up to 50%.

4. Liberty Safe Cloaks – While these give off the appearance of a giant trash bag encompassing your safe, it’s actually a brilliant idea as the saying goes: out of sight, out of mind. Essentially, it’s 5 different sizes of a giant gray tarp that you put over your safe. Outside of hiding your safe from prying eyes, it also protects your safe from dust, scratches and damages, particularly if it’s in your garage. If you have a high gloss bright red safe in your garage, it’s very likely to draw attention from people just driving by. By using the Liberty Safe Cover, it will give the appearance that you have a giant gray bag in your garage that could be well anything.

5. Stealth Molle Door Panel Organizers – I love the idea of door panel organizers. They help clean up and organize all of the small crap that is normally lying all over your safes shelves. There is always one giant problem with them: the row of pistol holsters on the organizer run right into the top shelf making them completely unusable. But… what if you could move those pistol holsters to anywhere on the panel? This is exactly what a Molle system is designed to do. Why none of these “gun” people were able to think of this blows my damn mind. Stealth finally got it figured out and made the Molle Door Panel Organizers. The system is completely adjustable, and you can even remove or replace all of the accessories. It’s the best door panel I’ve ever seen and is definitely a must have for your gun safe (so long as you don’t have one factory installed). It comes in 3 different sizes for all different types of safes.

6. Gun Safe Dehumidifier – Gun Safes provide the perfect environment for mold and mildew as they are insulated with fire resistant material, airtight and in dark or cold places. While these gun safes are designed to protect your firearms, they also create the perfect environment for them to rust and rot. This is where a gun safe dehumidifier comes into play. There are two major types that both work equally effective. The first style is the electric rod that heats up and causes warm air to circulate through your safe preventing condensation from forming. Dri-Rod and GoldenRod make excellent electric rods in the USA and Lockdown and SnapSafe make cheaper versions from China. The second style is the Silica Gel container. This uses the same concept as the packets in your shoes or beef jerkey. The Silica Gel beads actually absorb the moisture and with Eva-Dry will actually change color on the indicator to let you know that it’s time to recharge every 6-8 weeks. This style is ideal for those who don’t have power or don’t want to use the Stealth Power Outlet Kit to add power.

7. Gun Storage Solutions Handgun Hangers – Just as the name implies, handgun hangers allow your handgun to hang below the shelves in the front, the back on the top or any which way you can think of. Gun Storage Solutions has come out with a variety of brilliant ways to maximize the storage capacity of your safe. What I like about this brand specifically is that they are Made in USA and are coated with Vinyl. This is a huge difference between the cheap ones you see all over Amazon. They are covered in an epoxy wax that will wear down and eventually scratch the inner barrel of your handgun. A Vinyl coating is far more durable and will keep your handgun in perfect condition for years.

8. Fireproof bags – We all have important paperwork like our social security card, birth certificate, passport, etc. that would make our lives very difficult if they were to burn in a fire. While most safes have a fire rating, some are of lesser quality than others. For example, a 30 minute fire rating at 1200 degrees is nothing compared to the AMSEC UL 1 hour fire rating. While I would trust my important documents in the AMSEC UL 1 Hour Fire Rated Safe, I would absolutely not trust the 30 minutes at 1200 degrees. The vast majority of the safes sold at Costco, Walmart and Amazon fall into this category. This is where a fireproof bag can come in extremely handy as it can provide an additional 50 degrees of fire protection giving you at least a fighting chance at retaining your important papers in your cheap safe. If you have a good quality safe, a little extra protection never hurt anybody either.

9. Gun Safe Lights – Often times our safes are stored in the garage, in a closet, a basement or other low light conditions. This can make it very difficult to see inside the safe, especially if it has a dark interior like a gray fabric. Fortunately, there are tons of gun safe light kits that work perfectly for this occasion brightening up the inside of your safe making it easy to see. In my experience, the Liberty Clearview 5 wand and 6 wand are the best on the market however, Torchstar has the exact same style kit for about a third of the price with tons of 5 star reviews.  In all honesty, it might actually be the exact same product but because it’s not going through a major manufacturer like Liberty it’s able to be offered a significantly lower price.

10. Magnet Mounts – Originally created by Gun Storage Solutions, Magnet Mounts for handguns, magazines and clips have taken over Amazon. They really make perfect sense, all of these smaller items we are storing in our safes are made from metal so what better way to organize and store them than magnets. Several options have come out now that are cheaper or better quality than Gun Storage Solutions Original Design and the main one I would recommend for pistol mags at least is the Keeper MG Magnetic Ammunition Holder. It has by far the best reviews and I use three of them in my safe.
