“Should have looked elsewhere. Very nice and easy to use but probably easy to break into. I don’t feel secure but for the price it works.”

The TigerKing Rifle Safe G130-White is by no means a a rifle safe, but more of a gun cabinet. It should not be considered a high security product, it’s not CA DOJ approved and it doesn’t have a very secure locking mechanism. TigerKing is a fully Chinese owned and operated company with the real business name listed in Amazon as shen zhen shi zhe yu xu mao yi you xian gong si. Yea, try saying that five times fast. TigerKing is one of the biggest manufacturers in China and on Amazon they sell low end fire and burglary safes with low quality locks. In this review, I will help you understand how the TigerKing Rifle Safe G130-White is a “Rifle Safe” you should avoid at all costs.
Lock
First and always most important is a safes lock. The TigerKing Rifle Safe G130-White uses a combination of electronic keypad, biometric fingerprint and override key access. The biometric fingerprint scanner is not the typical optical or vein recognition and is not the highest quality scanner out there. With options from Verifi and Vaultek that are significantly better, this is likely a decent scanner for the price. The four push button electronic keypad is also very standard and the weak part of this lock is in the key override. TigerKing uses a tubular key override that can be opened in seconds with a BIC pen. This is the same override key AmazonBasics and many other importers use and there are just way too many videos out now showing exactly how to break in.
Security
The TigerKing Rifle Safe G130-White has not been tested for CA DOJ approval but would likely pass. They do not list the steel thickness anywhere in the listing, however safes of this style and weight are typically around 16 gauge steel. This can be pried open pretty easily with a screwdriver and hammer. This rifle safe features three steel locking bolts roughly 1/2″ in diameter. It also features an audible alarm system that will beep for 2 minutes after the wrong code is entered 5 times.
Style and Function
The TigerKing Rifle Safe G130-White is finished in a textured white and black keypad consistent with most of the low quality imported items from China. Inside it features a foam gun rack, steel interior, carpeted back panel and removable shelf. The internal LED light activates once the lock unlocks and it the rifle safe can store three rifles in total.
The Bottom Line
When it comes to protecting your rifles or shotguns, the TigerKing Rifle Safe G130-White is not a gun safe I would recommend. Rifles typically cost $500+ so why would you trust it to a $300 gun cabinet. Personally, I would recommend a real gun safe that features a UL rated high security lock and CA DOJ approval at a minimum. The Stealth EGS14, Liberty Centurion 12 and American Security TF5517 are all great alternatives to the TigerKing Rifle Safe G130-White.
