“Door only hinges 90 degrees open. Not worth the money. Material is basically a as durable as a commercial office cabinet. A portable cutting disc could cut the side of this open like a tin can. Very disappointed.”

Holojoy stands for home, love and enjoy and they claim to provide you with a transformative sense of calm as they develop beautiful products that inspire people to live their best lives. While this sounds really cute and thoughtful, I only wish they would have put that same level of thought into creating a secure rifle safe. Once again, this is a Chinese company selling the lowest security possible in a “safe” that is full of red flags. In this review, I will break down exactly what makes this product dangerous and help you understand what to look for in a real safe.
As always, the lock is the most important feature of any safe. Without a good quality UL rated high security lock, the safe will not operate reliably and securely. The keypad on the Holojoy biometric rifle safe has both an electronic keypad and a biometric scanner. One quick look at the reviews and you’ll find that the major complaint is that they simply don’t work. Holojoy also uses a key override on this biometric rifle safe that is very easy to pick. Finally, the batteries are located on the inside of the safe so if they die with the safe locked you will have to find the external battery pack they supply or use the override key.
Holojoy claims this is biometric rifle safe is made from strong thick solid steel but at 95 lbs shipping weight, this safe is at most 14 gauge steel. This is definitely not thick, solid steel and with only three locking bolts on the door side, a thief could easily pop this open with a screw driver and a hammer. Fortunately, Holojoy did add an audible alarm to this biometric rifle safe that sounds when the safe is being tampered with.
Next, the Holojoy biometric rifle safe claims to fit 9 long guns and three pistols. I can assure you, there is zero chance you will get 9 long guns in this biometric rifle safe and the true capacity is around 4 long guns. Read any of the reviews and they will all state the same issue.
Some features I do like about the Holojoy biometric rifle safe are it’s fully carpeted interior, fabric backed door panel organizer with three pistol holsters and an adjustable or removable shelf on the top.
All in all, this Holojoy biometric rifle safe is a low quality, easily damaged, unreliable gun cabinet advertised as a strong and secure biometric rifle safe. I would stay far away from this product and opt for something more secure such as the Stealth EGS14 gun safe, Liberty Centurion 12 gun safe or American Security TF5517.
