Browning is one of the oldest and most reputable firearm manufacturers in the industry. Browning doesn’t actually make the safes but partners with a company named ProSteel out of Utah. They feature the industries best interior, fully customizable and very high quality. In this Browning Ultra Security Door Review, I’ll explain why it is one of the absolute best security doors available.

Lock – Browning Ultra Security Door

First and always most important for any vault door is the lock. The Browning Ultra Security Door features a UL rated type 1 high security electronic lock. This security door is specifically meant not to look like a security door but just a normal door and the lock can be placed up to seven feet from the vault keeping its concealed nature truly hidden. Included in the price is the S&G 6120 UL rated high security electronic lock. S&G is the oldest and most reputable lock company in the United States. This lock is designed to last for many decades with trouble free use. It’s also tested against EMP attacks and is truly one of the best locks in the industry.

Security – Browning Ultra Security Door

In terms of security, the Browning Ultra Security Door is built extremely tough. The door and frame are built with 12 gauge steel and feature 20 solid steel locking bolts, 1.25″ thick. 10 of these bolts are active and 10 are dead bolts on the hinge side. When this level of security is combined with a concrete room, the security is unmatched. It will also work great as a front door or storm room.

Fire Rating

Most vault doors do not have any fire rating as they are just the door and not encased on all 6 sides like a traditional gun safe. The Browning Ultra Vault Door features a 3 hour fire rating compliant to Fema 252 with 1″ of composite material providing this protection. 3 hours is a substantial amount of time with the best gun safes reaching only a 2.5 hour fire rating. It’s also rated for both tornados and hurricanes so you really get full protection in this door.

Style and Function

Nearly all vault doors feature a textured or gloss finish looking like the door of a traditional gun safe. What makes this vault door so unique is that it looks like a normal door. it’s available in a white finish with either a 2 panel or 6 panel front. The handle is a single lever handle commonly found on normal doors and it would very difficult to know this is actually an extremely strong vault door. Also, you can hide the lock up to 7 feet away and there truly is no indication of what this door actually is.

Warranty

Not only does Browning make high quality products but they back it with one of the industries best warranties. First, they offer a lifetime warranty against break-in, attempted break-in and fires. They will replace the safe at absolutely not cost to you. Next, they offer a 5 year warranty on defects in materials and workmanship which cover all parts of the safe. All in all, this matches Liberty’s warranty and beats 1 and 2 year warranties from American Security, Rhino and Stealth. Finally, Browning is a reliable company and very easy to work with.
