Hayman is most well known for their innovative floor safes in the safe industry. They made an innovative, lightweight foam body that is just as strong in concrete. Since then, they’ve moved into home safes, gun safes and wall safes with moderate success. In this Hayman CV WS-7 Wall Safe review, I will explain why it is a great quality product, affordable and one of the top options in the wall safe category.
Lock – Hayman CV WS-7 Wall Safe
First and always most important for any safe is its lock. The Hayman CV WS-7 Wall Safe comes standard with a UL Approved High Security Electronic Lock made by SecuRam. SecuRam is a long standing company known for quality and longevity. This lock has over 1 million possible combinations and uses an innovative battery compartment that is so much easier than traditional keypads. This is a premier quality lock and I highly recommend it.
Security – Hayman CV WS-7 Wall Safe
The Hayman CV WS-7 Wall Safe is built with thick steel construction featuring a 1/4″ steel plate door and 1/8″ steel body. 1/4″ steel is the same thickness used on high end gun safes from Rhino, Stealth and American Security. To secure the door, Hayman uses a solid steel pin that retracts over the nose of the Swing Bolt Lock. While this is not as thick or secure as the Stealth WSHD1414 or American Security WS1214, it’s about the half the price so when compared to the V-Line Quick Vault, this Hayman wall safe is substantially better.
Style and Function
The Hayman CV WS-7 Wall Safe is finished in a textured off-white powder coat paint. Hardware includes a Chrome L Shaped drop down handle and chrome keypad. Inside you’ll find two removable shelves that are not adjustable, only removable. Overall, I’m not very impressed with the styling of this safe. However, wall safes are meant to be hidden so you won’t have to look at it all that much.
Warranty
The Hayman wall safe series comes with a lifetime warranty on both burglary and fire. They will repair or replace the safe, however you have to ship them the safe with a copy of the police report. This will cost you several hundred dollars and is not consistent with the lifetime warranties offered by competing companies. Nearly every other manufacturer will only require the police or fire report and do not need you to ship them the damaged, unusable safe. I am not a fan of this warranty at all. Always read the fine print. Finally, they also include a 1 year parts and labor warranty for the lock and defects in materials and workmanship.
The Bottom Line
Would I buy the Hayman CV WS-7 Wall Safe for my valuables? Yes, I absolutely would. With the UL rated high security SecuRam electronic lock, thick steel construction and a very affordable price, this is easily the best mid-tier wall safe available.
With that said, there is a wall safe that is far superior to this one. The Stealth WSHD1414 wall safe comes with a 1/2″ thick solid steel door, UL rated high security S&G mechanical lock, hard plate, re-locker, 12 gauge steel body, double the warranty and is still Made in USA. It’s my top absolute top pick in the wall safe category and significantly more secure. It’s also nearly double the price, so if all you need is a light duty, mid-tier wall safe, this Hayman wall safe will do a fantastic job. Remember with safes, you always get what you pay for.
