They are a very customer centric company and make products that people actually want. Overall, the Stealth Biometric Handgun Hanger Safe is a pretty good product with a unique design, but still not the best in the category.

Lock – Stealth Biometric Handgun Hanger Safe

The Stealth Biometric Handgun Hanger Safe uses a four push button electronic lock with six digit combination. The locking mechanism is the standard hook and latch system found on nearly every imported handgun safe in the industry. Next, they include a biometric fingeprint scanner capable of storing 31 different fingerprints. This scanner is not as good as the FBI certified scanner used on the Verifi handgun safes but also significantly less expensive. Overall, this lock is good for the price point and relative to the competition.

Key Override

One of the best features of this handgun safe is the key override. Finally, a company with some common sense that doesn’t use the standard tubular override key. Instead, they use a high security, laser cut override key. These keyways are endorsed by pro lock pickers like Bosnian Bill, Handgun Safe Research and Lock Picking Lawyer. It’s a significantly better design and so much more secure.

The Stealth Biometric Handgun Hanger Safe is CA DOJ approved as a firearm safety device. This test is not difficult to pass but does ensure it meets minimum safety requirements. Overall, this safe is actually build very strong. It has a 3/8″ formed steel door which is very thick and a 16 gauge steel body.

Also included is a high strength locking latch. The steel housing is welded very tightly preventing items from entering into the locking mechanism area. The anti-pry tabs along the door frame add pry resistance as well.

Hanging Rods

This is where we get to the best part of the Stealth Biometric Handgun Hanger Safe. The interior features three hanging rods covered in vinyl. This allows you to slide the barrel of your handgun onto these rods leaving your pistols “hanging”. This presents them at the ready position for the ultimate quick access. The vinyl prevents the barrels from getting scratched.

Speed Reducer

Most handgun safes with drop doors are spring loaded to open very quickly. When placed on a desk, this leaves a very loud bang as the door slams against the surface. A red interior light activates as soon as you finish entering the electronic code. The safe has an optional silent mode that eliminates all noise from the beeping on the illuminated keypad. A free security cable is included for mounting the handgun safe around a fixed object. Finally, a power port is included to keep the safe plugged in at all times and you can have a backup 9 Volt Battery installed in case the power goes out. They really loaded this handgun safe with a lot of features and made it perfect for arming the whole family in the middle of the night.

This Stealth Biometric Handgun Safe comes with a 1 year parts and labor warranty where they will repair or replace the safe at no cost to you. They do not require you to pay shipping which is a big plus compared to other manufacturers. Stealth is a very reliable company and was always one of the easiest to work with during my time in the safe industry.

The Bottom Line

Would I buy the Stealth Biometric Handgun Hanger Safe to store my handguns? Yes, I definitely would. It’s a great option to store 5 pistols at a very low cost.

With that said, Stealth makes a significantly better handgun safe that is actually my top pick overall, the Stealth ShadowVault. What makes this safe so much better is that it has a UL Approved High Security S&G electronic lock, thick 3/16″ steel door, 10 gauge steel body, two hard plates, steel hooks and a killer paint job. It’s the best handgun safe in the industry and worth the extra money.
