“Good Safe but loud… I like the safe, everything is great, but it’s loud and alerts when it’s opened. That could be if opened by mistake but also alerts an intruder that someone is around while I get my handgun out. Chines are problematic for my application.”

The TigerKing E25LK-Black Safe Box is not something I would trust to protect my valuables. TigerKing is a fully Chinese owned and operated company with the real business name listed in Amazon as shen zhen shi zhe yu xu mao yi you xian gong si. Yea, try saying that five times fast. TigerKing is one of the biggest manufacturers in China and on Amazon they sell low end fire and burglary safes with low quality locks. In this review, I will help you understand how the TigerKing E25LK-Black Safe Box is a lock box you should avoid at all costs.
Lock
First and most important for any safe is its lock and the TigerKing E25LK-Black Safe Box uses a push button electronic lock with tubular override key. The locking system is not motorized and relies on twisting the shell of the keypad to retract the bolts. This is a typical Solenoid lock that can be bumped open in seconds by hitting the top of the safe and turning the handle. Next, the tubular override key can be opened with a BIC pen and there are tons of Youtube videos showing exactly how to to do it.
Security
When it comes to security, the TigerKing E25LK-Black Safe Box is said to be equipped with highly durable, thick steel material however they don’t list the actual body thickness. Considering it weighs 24 lbs, I would estimate the actual thickness at 14 gauge steel. Add in the two 3/4″ one-way locking bolts with internal hinge and you can pry this open with a screwdriver and a hammer in just a couple minutes. The safe does comes with an alarm system that activates after three incorrect code entries or vibration.
Style and Function
This model, the TigerKing E25LK-Black Safe Box is finished in textured black with a black and chrome keypad that uses the outer shell to retract the bolts and open the safe. The inside is all steel with a carpeted bottom and single shelf. Overall, the styling on this safe is the same as every other low end imported safe from China.
The Bottom Line
Overall, the TigerKing E25LK-Black Safe Box is not something I would recommend. It is far too easy to break into via multiple methods. Personally, I would recommend something with a UL rated high security electronic lock such as the Stealth B1414 burglary safe for this type of application. Yes, it’s more expensive, but security is not something you want to be cheap on as your priceless valuables are worth more than saving a couple dollars.
